Our History

In 2004, Malcolm Goodman and Dr. Jeff Berger founded Sourcetone LLC – a global, research-driven, music-health company. Malcolm’s desire to produce and create music to enhance well-being and Jeff’s long-term commitment to health and growth helped forge the concept for Sourcetone’s vision. From these fundamental ideas Sourcetone attracted a world-class, interdisciplinary research team dedicated to offering music to enhance health and wellness in an overly complex and challenging world.

Through the joint efforts of the Sourcetone Research Team and research conducted at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Sourcetone delivers music through Sourcetone Interactive Radio and its Music Classification System Technology® evaluative system, Sourcetone Music Library, and groundbreaking software and audio engineering applications. Sourcetone Interactive Radio provides music tailored to individual, emotional, and musical preferences based on extensive empirical research. The company engages in far-reaching research to increase the role of music in such diverse areas as health, education, business, and culture.
